“Historic moment for America, Israel and the world,” says Trump as US Air Force targets Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan in bold military strike; Netanyahu hails it as 'Peace through Strength'
Washington: In a stunning turn of global events, former US President Donald Trump on Sunday declared that American fighter jets carried out precision bombings on three of Iran’s major nuclear facilities, Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, as the United States officially joined Israel’s war against Iran.
“All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home,” Trump announced on Truth Social, describing the airstrike as “a very successful attack.”
He added in his post:
“Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
This marks a massive escalation in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, which intensified after Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion”, a coordinated strike on Iran’s top nuclear scientists, generals, and key military installations.
Trump, who had earlier said he would need “two weeks to decide” on US involvement, made the move just 48 hours later, signalling a dramatic shift in global military dynamics.
Trump further emphasised the gravity of the decision:
“This is a HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ISRAEL, AND THE WORLD. IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO END THIS WAR,” he stated, confirming he would address the nation at 10 PM (local time) about what he called a “very successful military operation.”
Netanyahu Responds: “Peace Through Strength”
In a strongly worded message following the US strike, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump’s decision:
“President Trump and I often say: ‘Peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then comes peace. And tonight, Donald Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength.”
Conflict Casualties Rising Rapidly
Reports from a Washington-based Iranian human rights group say that over 600 people have been killed in Iran since the conflict erupted. Israel confirmed that Iran retaliated by firing 450 missiles and launching over 1,000 drones, resulting in at least 24 Israeli casualties.
The region now teeters on the brink of a full-scale international war, with both allies and adversaries closely watching for Iran’s next move — and whether Trump’s “time for peace” will indeed follow the fiery display of airpower.
