After Operation Midnight Hammer, US Considers Toppling Iranian Regime; Trump Declares “Iran Must Choose Peace or Face Further Destruction”
Washington: The Israel-Iran war has taken a volatile new direction, with the United States formally entering the conflict through a series of deadly airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, and now, shockingly, hinting at a possible regime change in the Islamic Republic.
In a dramatic post on the social media platform ‘X’, President Donald Trump stirred global tension further by signalling Washington’s intent to rethink Iran’s leadership, pointing directly at Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"We are concerned about the possibility of regime change in Iran to bring lasting peace to the Middle East. It is not politically correct to use the term regime change, but if the current Ayatollah Ali Khamenei regime cannot Make Iran Great Again (MIGA), why not consider regime change?" Trump posted.
The provocative statement came just hours after the United States launched “Operation Midnight Hammer”, deploying B-2 stealth bombers to hit Iran’s most critical nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
‘Midnight Hammer’ A Success, Jets Return Home
Trump confirmed that the US B-2 bombers involved in the strike have safely landed in Missouri, signaling the completion of what he called “one of the most successful and precise military operations” in recent history.
“We have completed our most successful strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All our aircraft are now safely outside Iranian airspace,” Trump wrote in another post.
He further warned Tehran of "complete destruction" if peace is not pursued.
“Iran must follow the path of peace. Otherwise, it will face further destruction in the future,” Trump cautioned, describing the strikes as “very tough and precise,” showcasing “the unmatched power of the US military.”
A Global Shockwave: Regime Change on the Table?
While US military intervention has historically avoided explicitly calling for regime change, Trump's rhetoric now suggests a new geopolitical strategy in the Middle East — one that may include toppling the theocratic leadership of Iran.
International analysts believe this move could provoke intense backlash from Iran and its allies, particularly Russia, China, and Hezbollah, and might push the region into an all-out war.
Meanwhile, Ayatollah Khamenei’s office has yet to issue an official response, but Iranian state media has condemned the strikes, calling them “an act of war by imperialist forces.”
