SIT Chief Pranab Mohanty inspects the excavation as the probe intensifies

Mangaluru: The investigation into the alleged secret burials near Dharmasthala has reached a tense juncture, as no human remains were recovered at three suspected burial sites dug up so far. The Special Investigation Team (SIT), acting on the directions of the complainant-witness, is excavating 13 locations suspected to contain buried bodies.

No Clues at Sites 2, 3 and 4

Following an unsuccessful dig at the first site near Netravati bathing ghat on Monday, authorities intensified efforts on sites 2 and 3 earlier today.
Officials dug up to a depth of six feet, but no skeletons or human remains were discovered.

SIT Chief Visits Site, Monitors Excavation

SIT Chief Pranab Mohanty personally visited the fourth identified location. Excavation was conducted in his presence, but that effort, too, yielded no results.

A PAN card and a debit card recovered earlier at site 1 have been sent for forensic analysis to determine any possible links to the missing persons.

"We are following all legal protocols during the excavation. The search will continue until all 13 sites are examined. Every piece of evidence is being documented and sent for analysis."
said an SIT official on site.

Excavation Now Underway at Fifth Site

Following repeated setbacks, the SIT has now initiated digging at the fifth suspected burial site. Sources in the team suggest that cadaver dogs and ground-penetrating equipment may be brought in if traditional methods fail to yield results.

The case has drawn intense public attention given the sensitive religious and social implications surrounding the alleged burials.
