Killed in Operation Mahadev by Indian Army in Dachigam near Srinagar
Srinagar: Hashim Musa alias Suleman Musa, the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terror attack, was gunned down in a high-risk encounter conducted by Indian security forces near Srinagar under Operation Mahadev. The operation was jointly carried out by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Top terrorist eliminated in gunfight
Musa, a former Pakistan Army Special Forces operative, was among the three terrorists neutralised during the encounter. He had gained notoriety during the Pahalgam attack after challenging a victim’s wife to "go and tell Modi", provoking public outrage across the country.
Operation based on specific intelligence inputs
Security forces launched the operation based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of militants in the Mulnar area of Harwan near Dachigam. The Indian Army’s Special Forces led the assault, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire.
Two other terrorists also gunned down
Along with Musa, two other terrorists linked to the same terror module were killed. Their identities are yet to be confirmed. The successful mission is seen as a major blow to cross-border terrorism and a morale boost for counter-insurgency operations in the region.
