A corporation accounts staffer used forged signatures to issue fake transfer and reappointment orders; disciplinary action was initiated

Bengaluru: In a major case of internal fraud, Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy has ordered an immediate inquiry and disciplinary action against a corporation employee found guilty of forging official signatures and issuing fake orders in exchange for money. Following preliminary findings, the employee in question has been suspended with immediate effect.

Forged Signatures, Fake Transfers, and Job Reappointments

The accused, Richard J., Operator in the Accounts Department at Kararasa Corporation’s Central Office in Bengaluru, is reported to have misused his official position to deceive fellow employees by promising job transfers and reappointments in exchange for bribes.

“Upon being informed of the misconduct, Minister Ramalinga Reddy directed that an inquiry be conducted immediately and that suitable disciplinary action be taken,”
said a source from the Transport Department.

As per the preliminary inquiry, Richard scanned and used forged signatures of high-ranking officials, including the Chief Mechanical Engineer, Chief Traffic Manager (C), and even the Immediate Past Managing Director, on fraudulent documents.

Victims Paid for Bogus Transfers and Appointments

Among the affected employees were:

  • Nagarajappa, Assistant Craftsman from the Shivamogga Unit, was falsely promised a transfer to the Davangere Division.

  • Nagaraj N.A., a dismissed driver, and his associate Chandrahas S. Achari, Driver (B.S.1939) from Kundapur Unit, who were falsely promised reappointment in the Shivamogga Division.

These employees paid Richard for the services, after which he:

  • Prepared fake official orders

  • Scanned and attached forged signatures

  • Printed the fraudulent documents and sent them to the victims

“The employee created and circulated fake orders by misusing scanned signatures of department heads, thereby tarnishing the image of the organization.”
The inquiry report stated.

Suspension and Further Action

Following these revelations, Richard has been suspended from service immediately. A full-fledged departmental investigation has been launched to determine the extent of the fraud and any possible accomplices.

“It is a clear case of misconduct involving forgery, bribery, and manipulation of official documents. Such behaviour damages the reputation of the organisation and will be dealt with sternly.”
A senior official remarked.

Minister Emphasises Strict Vigilance

Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy has stressed the need for strong vigilance mechanisms within government departments to prevent such incidents in the future.

“This case serves as a serious reminder to ensure strict monitoring, verification, and transparency in all departmental operations,”
he said in a statement.
