Sandalwood star taken into custody from Bengaluru apartment after SC overturns High Court order
Bengaluru: In a major legal setback, Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested by Bengaluru Police on Thursday after the Supreme Court cancelled the bail granted to him in the Renukaswamy murder case.
A two-judge bench comprising Justice J B Pardiwala and Justice R Mahadevan set aside the Karnataka High Court’s earlier order, siding with the Karnataka government’s appeal for stricter action against the accused.

Arrest from Hosakere Apartment
Darshan, named as A2 accused in the case, was taken into custody from Flat No. 4154 on the 15th floor of his wife Vijayalakshmi’s apartment in Hosakere. The arrest was executed by a police team led by Inspectors Nagesh and Subrahmanya in the presence of the investigating officer.

Pavithra Gowda Arrested Earlier in the Day
Hours before Darshan’s arrest, police had detained A1 accused Pavithra Gowda from her residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru. She, along with Darshan and other co-accused, had their bail revoked by the apex court.

The Supreme Court’s ruling also impacts: A6 Jagadish alias Jagga, A7 Anu Kumar alias Anu, A14 Pradusha, A11 Nagaraj alias Naga (Darshan’s manager), and A12 Lakshman. The verdict, reserved on July 24, was pronounced today.
