Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has announced the launch of three new non-air-conditioned bus routes starting from July 6, 2025, aimed at strengthening connectivity in key residential and suburban zones of the city. The first new route, 301-B, will operate between Shivajinagara and Kalkere, covering important locations such as Coles Park, Maruthi Sevanagara, Banaswadi, and Horamavu Ring Road. This service will operate with two buses, with departures from Shivajinagara at 0545, 0735, 0830, 0955, 1055, 1310, 1530, 1550, 1755, and 1955 hours, and return trips from Kalkere at 0640, 0730, 0830, 0955, 1055, 1215, 1435, 1455, 1630, 1650, 1855, and 2120 hours.

The second route, 301-C, will run between K. Channasandra and Horamavu Ring Road, passing through Kalkere and Jayanthinagara Signal. This route, also operated by two buses, will serve commuters throughout the day with high frequency. Buses from K. Channasandra will begin at 0635 hours and run at intervals until 2130 hours. Return journeys from Horamavu Ring Road will commence at 0610 hours and continue till 2110 hours, covering peak and non-peak hours.

The third and most extensive route, 328-HS, connects Budigere Cross and Sarjapura, via important tech and residential corridors such as Seegehalli Gate, Kadugodi, Varthur, and Dommasandra. Four buses have been allocated to this route. From Budigere Cross, buses will depart at 0720, 0830, 1025, 1105, 1340, 1420, 1555, 1735, and 1945 hours. From Sarjapura, services will start at 0545 and run at various intervals until 1925 hours.

BMTC has emphasised that these new services are designed based on public demand and feedback, with a focus on improving last-mile connectivity and reducing reliance on private vehicles. Officials added that frequency will be adjusted dynamically based on passenger load and route performance. The new services are expected to benefit daily commuters, students, and working professionals residing in the peripheral and eastern parts of the city.
